Diesel to Star in "Hitman" Movie Based on the Video Game Franchise

Vin Diesel is returning to action movies after a brief stop-over in family films ("The Pacifier"). Diesel will star as Agent 47 in the movie version of the video game "Hitman."

Diesel will star in and executive produce "Hitman" for 20th Century Fox. Charles Gordon and Adrian Askarieh will serve as producers.

The video game franchise "Hitman: Codename 47" hit stores in December 2000 and since that time has sold more than 2.6 million units in the United States alone, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The story follows Agent 47, a ruthless hired killer who works for The Agency. Diesel's a huge video game fanatic and a deal's in the works to have Diesel provide the voice of Agent 47 for the next installment in the "Hitman" video game franchise.

Vin Diesel will next be seen in the crime drama, "Find Me Guilty," directed by Sidney Lumet.
